When addressing the opioid epidemic, many different people are involved in helping the individual with a substance use disorder. Well-trained and knowledgeable healthcare providers are essential to this community, but it can be hard to navigate through the available resources.

NC AHEC is leading the HRSA-funded initiative to develop online educational learning modules to address the misinformation in communities, especially rural communities, around those with addiction and Substance Use Disorder. Multiple AHECs across the state contributed to this project. Learn more about NC AHEC at https://www.ncahec.net.
The target audience for these modules includes community health workers, AHEC Scholars, peer support specialists, and healthcare providers, particularly in rural health centers and underserved areas across the state.
